Kerry Collins Recruitment are looking for a support worker to provide assistance to a male in his early 40's to live a life of fulfilment, providing general day to day support, assistance with shopping, appointments, social inclusion and happy to assistwith general handy work and hobbies.

Support with medication is also required and Experience supporting individuals with Acquired brain injury is also preferred.

  • Minimum 6 months Care/ Support work experience
  • Drivers preferred due to some areas of Telford where public transport is limited
  • Experience with service users that may display behaviours that can be challenging
  • Compassion and empathy
  • Committed to providing a high standard of care

  • Understanding of safeguarding service users
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Punctual
  • A team player, ability to work under direction as well as using own initiative.
  • Enthusiastic about care, outcomes, service delivery and service users' health and wellbeing

You must be able to provide support with the following:

  • Meal prep
  • Prompts with personal care and supporting with keeping up high standards of personal hygiene
  • Light domestic work in the home
  • Support with activities outside of the home, including trips to the shops, food shopping and walks out in the local community.
  • Be confident in dealing with behaviours that can challenge.
  • Be able to provide reassurance, be patient, able to read body language and identify the immediate needs of the service user and action them accordingly
  • Be able to identify triggers and help to deescalate behaviours in adherence with training guidelines

Job Duration:

Permanent - ongoing


Hours:

10am - 2:30pm

Telford

Monday - Friday

Salary:

£12 Per Hour
