Background


Our Change Directorate is at the forefront of our ambition to transform the FCA into a data-led regulator, and our work enables the FCA to effectively regulate some of the UK's most complex financial markets.


Within the Change Directorate, our Departmental Change Teams (DCT) work closely with business areas to deliver business change activities in support of technology, regulation, process and behavioural changes.

DSTs are made up of key change disciplines such as business change, project management and business analysis.


What does this job involve?- Responsible for designing and implementing the business change approach for complex transformation programmes.- Responsible for assessing the impacts of programme led change, securing a shared view of the changes and the impact with the business sponsoring the change and other stakeholders and the programme team.- Developing and delivering change strategies and interventions to effectively implement the required change, (business change deliverables and milestone) including but not limited to; stakeholder engagement plans, training needs analysis, communication plans, training plans, resistance management plans and in conjunction with impacted business areas, analysing the change to determine what people processes are required to implement organizational change.- Producing and supporting the delivery of "go live" plans, which may include the establishment and leadership of change agent/champion networks.- Leading the resolution of people related risks and issues.- Identifying readiness and exit criteria.

Managing to the readiness criteria, ensure the change is embedded within the relevant business area and complete the transition to BAU teams services post go live.- Responsible for managing business change team members and taking responsibility for quality assuring key deliverables Being a role model and leader for the Business Change practice across the organisation, and providing coaching and support as required.- The satisfaction that your work makes a real difference and contributes to the FCA delivering on its mission.- Critical part of a delivery team delivering a pipeline of work that will help redefine the FCA's technology landscape for years to come.- Ability to support the successful realisation of business outcomes within the FCA.- Opportunity to network across the FCA.- A challenging and varied workload across a varied portfolio of change.- An opportunity to work in a collaborative, learning environment with a team of talented and motivated colleagues.

Required proven experience in a specific technical area or skill:

  • Significant experience of leading business change projects, leading teams in successful delivery of organisational change, particularly on transition programmes involving changes to people, processes, IT, culture and behaviour.
  • Significant experience of delivering business change across a variety of project and programme methodologies.

Required role-specific know-how, skills and behaviours- Excellent relationship management with a proven ability to build trust and understanding the issues that matter to people most, whilst taking divisions through structural, procedural and cultural change- Excellent analytical skills: ability to think clearly and rigorously about how best to assess operational risk and readiness and reach pragmatic approach and direction, including under pressure.- Strategic and pragmatic thinker, focused on outcomes and the bigger picture with the confidence to engage constructively to challenge established approaches.- Significant experience of identifying risks, developing mitigation actions and reaching agreement with stakeholders on the management of risks and issues where there are interdependencies within and outside of a portfolio.

- Ability to work in a logical and structured way in response to ambiguity- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills: excellent written and oral communication- Comfortable with technology concepts and solutions Ability to travel to FCA Stratford office as required for team or project meetings

  • Desirable criteria_
Role-specific know-how, skills and behaviours that would be advantageous:

  • Coaching skills, able to coach Business Change Practice members in frameworks and methodologies and change management behaviours
  • PROSCI or other business change qualifications
