Why are you here?
You will take the lead on property surveys for building defects and legal disrepair. Provide detailed technical reports and technical specifications and manage the associated contract works.
You will manage the process to ensure customers' homes are safe and secure in line with decent homes standards and mitigate any risks associated with HHSRS (Housing Health and Safety Rating System) and the Fit For Human Habitation Bill.
What you'll be doing:
- Property surveys and inspections
- Schedules and specification
- Project and contract management
- Tendering and procurement
- Compilation of legal documentation
- Reports and presentations
- Hybrid working office based and working remotely
- Treating your customers with respect and empathy
- 39 hour working week, with out of hours cover every 1 in 4 weekends with an out of hours payment
- Work collaboratively with Great Places teams and external stakeholders

What you'll need:
- Desirable, professional qualification or working towards (MRICS / MCIOB)
- HNC or equivalent in a building / construction discipline
- Knowledge of sector related Health and Safety and statutory compliance
- Strong commercial awareness and financial management
- Good communication skills, report writing and presentations
- Proficient with IT systems and data compilation
- Experience of the Social Housing sector
- Focus on quality customer service
- Good understanding of the construction process (RIBA stages, forms of contracts etc)
- Flexible approach to work
