Knowsley Council are seeking to recruit a number of enthusiastic and motivated Commissioning & Contracts Officers to join its Whole Life Commissioning Team.
Knowsley is a dynamic local authority which is seeking to transform the way that services are delivered in partnership with other public sector organisations, local businesses, and communities.
The Whole Life Commissioning Team commissions a wide range of services covering Adult Social Care, Children's Social Care and Public Health Services.
Examples of these services including Domiciliary Care, Nursing and Residential Care, Supported accommodation for Learning Disabilities and Mental Health, Day services, SEND, children's residential placements, drug and alcohol services, sexual health services, youth services and many more.
These roles will be responsible for supporting the team to deliver evidenced based, high quality and cost-effective commissioned services.We are interested in hearing from individuals who want to make a positive difference to the lives of others and who have the knowledge, skills and experience in commissioning or one or more of the relevant service areas, to commission services effectively across a range of portfolio areas.
Specific experience in Adult Social Care, Children's Social Care or Public Health Commissioning would be beneficial but is not essential.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential to the role as there is a need to work closely with a range of key stakeholders, including Senior Managers, Elected Members, practitioners, health commissioners, service users, children and young people, residents and carers.
The council offers a range of flexible working options, including flexible working hours and a hybrid approach to home / office working.
The office base in Huyton is an easily accessible location (15 mins to Liverpool, 30 mins to Manchester by rail).
