Charity Finance Officer

Location:
Brighton, East Sussex
(hybrid working)

Salary:
£35,000 (pro rata) + Excellent Benefits


Flexible hours, 9.30am to 6.00pm - 3.5 days per week (24.5 hours)**
Job Type: Part-time, permanent contract, PAYE

They support artists who use digital technology in their work, and helps people find routes into the creative and cultural industries.

They deliver education and talent development programmes, commission artists to make and present new work, and present exhibitions, talks and artist residencies.


The Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
Charity Finance Officer to join their enthusiastic team.

You will be responsible for the financial management, associated policies and contribute to the financial and business planning of the organisation.


Requirements:


Essential:


  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Finance Manager or equivalent.
  • Excellent knowledge of charity regulations and company law.
  • Experience in developing and delivering financial strategies.
  • Understanding of the current financial issues relating to working in the finance department of a charity or a small business.
  • Experience in devising and implementing new finance systems.
  • Excellent ICT skills including experience in using software such as Excel, Microsoft Word, Googledocs and Quickbooks.

Desirable:


  • Previous working experience in a similar role for a charity
  • Accounting qualification or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with VAT as it applies to Charities.
  • Familiarity with the Charity Statement of Recommended Practice "SORP" FRS 102.
