About the role
Our client has an exciting and new opportunity for an Environmental Officer to join their team in Rugby.

They are seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable and motivated ESG professional to work on supporting their high-profile clients to deliver ambitious ESG targets.

You will be responsible for understanding customers ESG commitments as well as the internal development of environmental policies.

Key Responsibilities

Provide services to clients focused on their ESG commitments including sustainability, waste management, carbon reduction, energy efficiency
To be the internal environmental support contact for all business operations, including assisting sales teams in answering client questions on environmental and sustainability matters
Environmental lead between company and client
Visit client's offices/sites as required
Understand and provide guidance to clients regarding sustainable purchasing decisions
Data management; collect all environmental and social data. This includes developing and maintaining a database of supplied client equipment, energy efficiency ratings and carbon reductions
Utilise data to monitor and report on environmental performance against objectives
Work with suppliers to better understand environmental implications and solutions throughout the supply chain
Keep up to date with new legislation and best practice, understanding how this may affect the company and developing strategies to ensure we remain compliant
Lead the internal environmental team
Help design and implement internal ESG policies
Identify and develop innovative solutions for a range of complex challenges
Provide support and technical advice on sustainability to all stakeholders eg Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain
Oversee sustainabilityrelated internal and external communications
Provide insights and reporting of sustainable solutions

Key Skills
Passionate about delivering sustainable business solutions

A Graduate with sustainability credentials

Understanding of environmental management systems, ISO14001, Energy management systems ISO50001, and internal environmental auditing

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proven record of planning and organization

Ability to utilise Microsoft packages to a high level
