Early Years Practitioner Room Leader to start as soon as possible

Bicknacre Pre-School is a charity run, community-based organisation, situated in the grounds of Priory Primary School.

We work hard to provide high quality care for children from the age of 2 up to statutory school age.

We have a high adult/child ratio, ensuring that we can pay attention to the individual needs of each child in our care.

We are a sessional pre-school offering all day sessions from 8:50am to 2:50pm for over 3's and morning only sessions for under 3's, 38 weeks per year.

The working day will be 8.30am to 3.30pm

We are looking to recruit a room leader on a full time term time basis. Salary will be based on qualifications and experience.

Main duties to include:
To provide safe, high-quality education and care for pre-school children

To prepare and supervise the daily programme of pre school activities in accordance with EYFS statutory framework

To assist manager on a day-to-day basis. Organising and leading room, maintaining a healthy work environment for all, conducting staff appraisals, and identifying any training needs. To supervise the close up of pre-school on a rota basis several times per week.

To be responsible for accurate and appropriate record keeping of daily registers, accident books, medical records, health and safety information, child records relating to attainment and progress and any other relevant information in order to comply with national standards.

To assist with organising special events such as fetes, parties, and other fundraising activities

Essential criteria:
Level 3 Safeguarding and experience of designated safeguarding lead

Level 3 Childcare qualification or above

Minimum of 2 years' experience of working in a pre-school/nursery setting

Good working knowledge of IT systems

Good understanding of Ofsted requirements

Good understanding of EYFS statutory framework

Desirable criteria:
Special Educational Needs Training

First Aid Training

Experience in a room leader role
