Experienced Trailer Fitter to join our business at Felixstowe


Working on a shift pattern, made up of days, evenings & nights, covering the operation from Monday AM through to Saturday AM, ensuring all maintenance and repairs are carried out in a professional manner to our fleet & Third Party customers equipment.

Flexbility is essential as there is overtime at weekends on a rotational basis.

You will be required to service & repair trailers, assist in the upkeep of the Workshop Stores, ensuring that the workshop equipment is maintained, as well as keeping the working environment clean & free from obstruction.

There is naturally an element of daily administration, ensuring all work is processed on the relevant systems, creating job cards via an electronic tablet to ensure charging is accurate.


Clear communication is paramount to guarantee a smooth handover between shifts and maintain excellent interaction with both our internal & external customers in a timely efficient manner.

Maintaining the safety of all employees, sub-contractors, and visitors alike, promoting a 'Safety Starts with Me' culture throughout whilst operating within DFDS Safe Working Practices & Procedures.

Our team also carry out other tasks, to help the operational departments, which include the refuelling of refrigerated trailers, restowing of trailer loads & cross docking cargo using forklifts.

Therefore, a Full UK driving licence is a prerequisite for this position, as in addition you will need to be able to retrieve trailers from the terminal for repair using a Terminal Tractor (Tugmaster 4 x4).

Experience in this would be preferable.


Further training & development will be provided during the role and there is always plenty of variation as you can see.
