The role will assist with the day-to-day delivery of high quality business and clinical information across Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, making sure that it is relevant, timely, accurate, appropriate andcomplete.
Reporting to the Information and Data Quality Manager, the post holder will support the Trust with the development of effective and efficient processes for recording the Trust's critical information.
The post holder will need to work unsupervised using their initiative and skills gained through experience in order to ensure effective use of time to manage their own workload.
The post holder will be required to travel across all sites.

- To assist with the improvement of the quality and reliability of information stored on electronic clinical information systems as a key resource in the management and improvement of patient care.
- The post holder will be required to support the Head of Clinical Information and Data Quality, and the Information and Data Quality manager, to plan and manage the delivery of initiatives that will improve data quality and raise the profile of the importance of data quality across the Trust.
- To deputise for the Information and Data Quality manager in their absence as required.
- To be responsible for the supervision, recruitment and development of the Data Quality team across Bedfordshire Hospitals Foundations Trust. Provide personal mentoring to staff in relation to work, training and issues affecting their performance at work. Ensure electronic rosters, one to ones and appraisals are completed and individual development plans are in place.
- Plan and manage the DQ teams daily workload to achieve agreed objectives, ensuring improved data quality is maintained across the Trust in line with local and national standards.
- To assist on the implementation of Trust wide standards for data collection for both clinical and nonclinical data capture to improve DQ in all settings. Using knowledge of the Trust's internal systems and external clinical data to ensure that information reporting systems are up to date and relevant to the needs of the Trust. This will be key to ensuring that the information delivered is accurate, timely and accessible.
- Using the Trust's data warehouse and other technologies to diagnose complex data problems and inefficiencies, suggesting and providing solutions where possible, and to create, develop and distribute suitable information reports for users both within and outside the Trust
- To use specialist knowledge and expert analytical skills to analyse a range of complex and sensitive clinical and management data provided via electronic or paper means for DQ issues. Interpret, report and communicate detailed information to a wide range of staff and external agencies ensuring the data is presented in a format suitable to the end user.
