Job Requirements:

Provide an onsite presence when required.
Cover shifts at short notice. Including evenings and weekends.
Ensure a welcoming and supportive environment for service users of the Malcolm X Community Centre
Open and close the building, following all security procedures

- when on site act as a nominated keyholder and point of contact for security and fire alerts.

Maintain and improve the exterior and interior of the premises, including tasks such as emptying bins, recycling, litter picking, inspecting and clearing drains, weeding, etc.
Undertake basic DIY and repairs when required.
General Waste Management
Perform routine cleaning duties when needed, especially after events.
Ensure adequate levels of stock are available for use.
Maintain and adhere to all health and safety guidelines.
Effectively communicate and build working relationships with Centre users, staff, volunteers, and trustees.
Undertake relevant training when necessary.
Undertake any other duties in line with the status of the post as directed by the line Manager.
Maintain a polite, approachable, and helpful demeanour.
Show enthusiasm and promote positivity in all interactions.
Maintain confidentiality regarding Centre business, users, and volunteers.

Punctuality and being 'on call' are essential.

Note: This is an ad hoc bank staff position, and flexibility is required to meet the needs of the Malcolm X Community Centre._
