The Institute for Global Health and Development is a multi-disciplinary centre for research and postgraduate education addressing contemporary health and development challenges in low and middle income countries.

It regularly holds major research funding from sources including UKRI, NIHR, FCDO, AMIF, NIH and enjoys enduring relationships with policy and practice partners such as the WHO, World Bank, UK Home Office and Scottish Government.

Marked by a commitment to critical thinking, practice engagement, and social justice, over its thirty-year history it has equipped over five hundred Masters and doctoral alumni from sub-Saharan Africa, South and East Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas for work in the global health, development and humanitarian sectors.

We facilitate learning for students from many nations through courses provided in Edinburgh and, increasingly, through online delivery.

Working closely with colleagues in the Professional Services team and across the Institute you will be carrying out a wide range of clerical and support activities.

This includes administrative support for the general Institute activities, and more specific support for the Online Programme, working closely with the Programme Leader and academic staff in the efficient running and administration to the online MSc Programmes at IGHD.

You will have a degree or equivalent with previous relevant experience of working within similar settings. Well-developed written and verbal communication, interpersonal, administrative, organisational and strong IT skills are essential.
