Junior Financial Controller

Skills Required:
Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including knowledge and experience of working with VLookUp formula's and/or pivot tables.

Tasks of the role

  • Work within the financial procedures and Internal Financial controls of the organisation.
  • Work as part of the central administration support for the whole organisation.
  • Undertake the preparation of sales invoices and ensure that the credit control procedures are enacted.
  • Input data to Local Authority payment portal and generating matching invoices.
  • Input purchase invoices and prepare payment schedules where appropriate.

Payroll

  • Verifying accuracy of payroll information from staff timesheets and our HR and rota software.
  • Crossreferencing of staff sickness and annual leave between our HR software and Timesheets.
  • To work alongside the HR team ensuring all staff details are correctly recorded across out systems.
  • Be responsible for the checking and processing of staff expenses.

Other Tasks

  • Check for and report any breaches of Finance Procedures to the Finance Manager or Finance Director, as appropriate.
  • Take responsibility for the daytoday financial tasks including receipt and banking of cash and cheques.
  • Assist with preparation of information for the annual audit.
  • Work flexibly as a member of the Central Services team to ensure that all general administrative tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To identify own training and development needs in discussion with line manager.
  • To observe all written policies, procedures and guidelines for good practice agreed by Independent Options.
  • To maintain good links and communication with all staff members within Independent Options.
  • To accept regular support, supervision and appraisal from the Finance Manager.
  • To work within the Performance Management System for Independent Options.
  • To carry out such other duties as Independent Options may require.

£25,766.13 per year
