We have an excellent opportunity to join Muller at our Market Drayton head office as a

Customs Administrator. You will help collate data, verify information and liaise with colleagues & third parties for the timely submission of Imports & Exports Customs declarations. To handle all daily operational and related administrative tasks to allow the Customs Team to provide 7-day week coverage for Customs declarations.


The shift pattern for this role is 5 over 7 days, 40 hours per week onsite at Market Drayton working up to 2 weekends a month.
**Key responsibilities for the Customs Administrator will include: - **- Combine data on the daily exports and prepare paperwork for the Official Vets to inspect export loads and obtain the relevant Export health Certificates.

  • Prepare Export instructions and pro forma invoices for all loads leaving the UK.
  • Liaise with Customs Brokers, vets, hauliers and all relevant authorities to ensure all the appropriate documentation for export is correct and completed within a timeline.
  • Preparation of samples shipments.
  • Complete supplementary declarations on the TSS portal for each month.
  • Collate & review supplier information to prepare import instructions for the Customs Brokers.
  • Monitor expected deliveries, liaise with the Material Control Team, Procurement & Suppliers to ensure there are no delays to deliveries.
  • Provide clearance information to Fast Parcel operators to enable clearance of goods.
  • Complete all required paperwork for the reexport of returned / rejected goods.
  • Import licences monitor expected deliveries and work with senior colleagues to ensure appropriate licences are in place.
  • IPAFFS entries/CHED for POAO
  • Continuous monitoring of UK Global Tariff and documenting any changes
  • Verify accuracy of purchase invoicing reports from Brokers, add GL codes and GRN accordingly
  • Raise Purchase Requisitions and process purchase invoices as required.
  • Complete assigned daily WorkFlow tasks to allocate commodity codes to new materials.
**Key skills and experience for the Customs Administrator: - **- UK Customs Academy courses will be provided as well as job specific training.

  • Good working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Excellent ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to find information which might be difficult to obtain and to challenge processes.
  • Drive, enthusiasm and ability to achieve goals
  • Flexible, responsive and resourceful when reacting to changing work demands
  • Ability to interact and work as part of team as well as on own initiative
  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
