Job Introduction
We are hiring a contract Maternity cover MailOnline Product Lead.
The role is accountable for building and effective delivery of key elements of the product strategy for MailOnline - one of the most used websites and apps in the world.
The role will achieve this by owning, building and managing key parts of the product roadmap that;- grows our audience, both through finding new audiences and improving engagement of our existing ones by partnering with editorial, UX and data,
- delivers commercial benefit through revenue growth and effective cost management,
- builds an intuitive user experience,
- and is delivered in a predictable and reliable way.
These goals will require partnering deeply with our editorial, commercial, design, data, finance, and audience development teams.

- building productive working relationships and communicating with senior stakeholders
- comfortable in a news environment and be resilient and able to manage change.
Experience within the wider media and/or publishing industry is required; demonstrable experience of working in a product role on consumer and advertising facing digital products to drive revenue and engagement growth is also necessary.
Main Responsibilities
- Building and delivering dmg media's outcome focused elements of MailOnline product strategy and roadmap with a specific focus on engagement driven initiatives e.g. community building.
- Building and managing the relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to achieve the aims set out in the roadmap.
- Communicate and evangalise the product strategy across the organisation.
- Defining goal and feature requirements that ensure the needs of the reader and business are met.
- Taking accountability for the user experience of features the team builds.
Person Specification
- Demonstrable experience of driving engagement and revenue growth in digital media businesses
- Transformational and transactional levels of work. For example, comfortable at both ends of a spectrum including presenting strategic plans up to executive level and working with delivery teams to ensure fine details of digital experiences work as expected.
- Comfortable using qualitative and quantitative data to influence decision making
- Collaborating with a range of stakeholders, ideally including editorial, business and marketing, technology and delivery and understanding how communication approaches and styles need to be adapted for each stakeholder
- Driving change and transformation within longrunning businesses and able to independently establish networks across them
- Working a variety of roadmap and product development tools
- Working in demanding environments that require strong time management and prioritisation skills.
