Vent Engineering are a specialist in natural and smoke ventilation systems and have been manufacturing, supplying, installing and commissioning ventilation systems since 1988 for a variety of projects of all shapes and sizes.
About The Role:
Main Responsibilities:
- Respond to IT support requests from employees, addressing hardware, software, and network issues promptly and professionally.
- Provide remote and inperson assistance to employees, guiding them through troubleshooting steps to resolve technical problems.
- Monitor and maintain the health and performance of the company's IT systems, including servers, networks, and hardware.
- Support routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, patches, and backups, to ensure system reliability and security.
- Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access levels in accordance with company policies.
- Create & maintain in house support system to keep accurate records of support requests, troubleshooting steps taken, and resolutions provided.
- Compile regular reports on IT support activities, identifying trends and recurring issues for further improvement.
- Collaborate with external IT providers to escalate complex issues that require 2nd or 3rd line support and ensure a smooth handover of information.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to suggest improvements for the company's IT infrastructure and support processes.
- Participate in team meetings and discussions to contribute ideas for optimising IT operations.
About you:
Experience required:
- Proven experience in a 1st line IT support role or similar capacity
- Solid knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting techniques
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, as well as general knowledge of operating systems
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with technical and nontechnical personnel
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage time efficiently
- Customerfocused attitude with a commitment to delivering highquality IT support
- Relevant certifications (e
g, CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified:
Modern Desktop Administrator Associate) are a plus
- Working knowledge of Sage is Beneficial
- Must have driving licence and own vehicle due to travel required between sites
