As a Domestic at Harrowby Lodge Nursing Home, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of the care home.

Your primary responsibility is to provide domestic support to the facility, helping to create a welcoming and comfortable living space for our residents.

You will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and collaborate with the care team to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control.

Key Responsibilities:

Housekeeping:
Perform routine cleaning tasks in residents' rooms and common areas, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.

Laundry:
Collect, wash, and distribute residents' laundry as per the care home's guidelines.

Waste Management:
Properly dispose of waste, following infection control procedures.

Stock Management:
Keep an inventory of cleaning supplies and report to the Housekeeping Manager when supplies need replenishing.

Infection Control:
Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for residents and staff.

Communication:
Report any maintenance or repair needs to the Housekeeping Manager and maintain effective communication with the care team.

Participate in training and support meetings as required.
Adhere to policies and procedures within the Home and Greensleeves Care.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of infection control procedures is an advantage.
Ability to work well in a team and take direction from superiors.
Excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
Empathy and respect for the needs and preferences of residents.

The working hours for this position vary and could include weekends or evenings, as needed to ensure the facility's cleanliness and hygiene.

To report any concerns re possible abuse of a resident immediately to the person in charge.

To respect the confidentiality of the residents, other employees and the Home at all times, including when you are using social networking systems ie Facebook.

Maintain good working relations with all colleagues at all times in order that the Home may maintain a positive working environment.
