Independent Forgings and Alloys (IFA) is one of the UK's leading independent aerospace and industrial forgers.

The unique feature about IFA is the combination of open and closed-die forging while also undertaking the whole production process from raw material to the finished product in one location.

Operating from a ft2 facility in Sheffield, we manufacture high-integrity, open-die and closed-die forged components in nickel alloy, titanium, stainless steel and carbon alloys for customers and tier-one suppliers within the aerospace, nuclear, power generation, marine as well as oil and gas sector.


Main Purpose of the Role


Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be part of a team responsible for customer focused quality and product excellence.

You will be responsible for producing customer quality documentation to the highest standards, handling customer quality issues and non-conformance as well as participating in both customer site visits and audits.


Key Accountabilities

  • Review works route cards and other quality release documents for compliance to customer purchase order requirements.
  • Produce and submit first article inspection reports packages to customer requirements.
  • Focal point of customer quality liaison within IFA.
  • Liaise with departments to promote a standard of product and documentation excellence.
  • Produce final release documentation (Certificates of conformity, Customer concession documentation, Despatch documentation etc.)
  • Approved final release signatory for IFA product.
Any other duties as may reasonably be required such as:

  • Perform internal audits to defined schedule as required.
  • Be involved in external customer audits/visits as required.
  • Analysis of quality and product data as required.

Skills and Experience

Essential:


  • Good understanding of Quality Procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and Windowsbased data systems.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and keep calm in stressful times.
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills.
  • Flexible and proactive approach.
  • Ability to work in a team as well as on your own initiative.

Qualifications

Essential:


  • Educated to 5 GCSE's A-C or equivalent, including Maths and English.
