Accounts Payable Supervisor

Our national client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their finance team on a permanent basis due to continual growth, which is based at their new offices in Luton 5 days a week.

This job would suit someone with previous accounts payable experience and a minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory / team leader role.

The Accounts Payable Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the purchase ledger team, ensuring correctrecords are maintained, which will satisfy the external auditors and ensure all suppliers are paid in a prompt manner.

The successful individual will have excellent communication skills both in writing and verbally and at many different levels. They will be punctual, flexible and able to prioritise workload to meet multiple deadlines on a daily basis. Good IT skills withdemonstrable ability in Microsoft packages and databases (Word, Excel and Outlook) is essential for this role.

Job responsibilities:

Supplier invoices are scanned, distributed, processed on a timely basis.
Ensure accurate recovery of input VAT
Management of the invoice authorisation process
Timely and accurate passing of invoices to nominal, vehicles and subcontract liabilities, as applicable
Timely resolution of supplier queries with budget holders
Monthly supplier statement reconciliations, dealing with and resolving any account anomalies as they arise
Monthly / mid monthly supplier payment runs in accordance with timetable
Ad hoc supplier payments, as applicable
Minimise unapproved invoices
Timely closure of purchase ledger at month end in accordance with management accounts deadline
Formal monthly review of aged creditors with accountant, as appropriate
