Eaton in Titchfield is now looking for a Buyer.

Eaton's Aerospace business in Titchfield is recognized as an industry leader in aerospace fuel systems and a premier supplier of fully integrated fuel systems for fixed and rotary wing aircraft.

The site offers extensive fuel and air system test facilities, allowing either complete aircraft fuel & inerting systems or components to be tested over a wide range of altitudes and temperatures with differing fuel types.


What you'll do:

As a Buyer you will purchase assigned items such as specific commodities, machinery, precision tools, test equipment, etc. ensuring the meeting of quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible cost.

Sources new suppliers, negotiates prices/terms and conditions, assesses supplier performance, requests corrective action when required, and expedites material orders to ensure timely and economical completion of customer requirements.


Essential functions:


  • Balances current and future demand requirements with supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements.
  • Prepares and sends RFQ documentation in line with the Supplier Use Authorisation and evaluates supplier quotations.
  • Supports the department in negotiating contractual terms regarding quantity, price, delivery, quality, freight routings, and other standard terms.
  • Evaluates and monitors current supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery & cost. Utilising standard KPIs, to improve supplier performance.
  • Expedites supplier material, where required, to meet shortfall between current plan and customer order requirements.
  • Coordinates with Accounts Payable on billing and/or credit issues.
  • Arranges for or assists in the disposal of surplus material.
  • Coordinates the return, rework, or exchange of defective materials.
  • Supports cost reduction projects and improvement initiatives to achieve overall business objectives.
  • Follows and maintains system parameters in line with model plant processes & policies.
  • Drives and responds to action message report.
  • Responsible for maintaining integrity of data in component availability report.

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in a procurement function ideally from a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding purchasing, logistics, incoming product inspection and inventory control
  • ERP/MRP experience

Skills:


  • Excellent communication skill and able to lead change in a team environment
