The Rigging Supervisor will work closely with a variety of departments including; R&D, Art, Modelling, Layout and Animation, to develop, implement, maintain and support character and prop deformation rigs for use in both Layout and Animation.

The Rigging Supervisor will deliverthe best deformation and animation rigs for a wide range of character styles and art directionsso that the Animators can bring the characters to life.


Responsibilities:


  • Keeps up on current technology trends and tools (hardware and software) that best suit the production (and the company) in the development of a stronger creative technical environment.
  • Writes scripts in Python to facilitate workflow improvements.
  • Brainstorms new techniques and ideas for user interfaces, deformation tools, and character specific rigging solutions.
  • Responsible for providingaccurate, effective and timely legal advice, analysis and support on both corporate and business affairs relating to the Skydance Animation Madrid Business.
  • Provide solutionfocused legal advice tailored to the needs of the Business.
  • Draft, review and negotiate contracts and other legal documents for Skydance Animation Madrid, including artistic freelancer ́s agreements, assignment of IP rights, lease agreements, NDAs as well as different contracts related to service providers.
  • Review and advise on data privacy and other relevant compliance and regulatory matters applicable to Skydance Animation Madrid, including drafting and updating privacy procedures, processes, policies, data processing agreements and international transfers of data.
  • Identify areas of risk for Skydance Animation Madrid and assist in providing solutions to manage the risks.
  • Assist in the development of best practices with the Skydance Animation Madrid Executive Leadership Team.
  • Report to both the Head of Skydance Madrid and the General Counsel of Skydance Media Group.
  • Liaise with Skydance Animation Madrid's Sole Administrator office and manage the legal administration documents of the company such as deeds and Powers of Attorney.
  • Coordinate and maintain relationships with the external law firms and other legal and compliance related intermediaries, such as labor, corporate and privacy outside counsels and tax advisors.
  • Contract management and administration: Arrange for the execution of agreements and amendments, coordinate signatures and manage both the physical and electronic storage of contracts.
  • Review End User Licenses Agreements (EULAS) and other software licenses.
  • Draft, monitor and update Skydance Animation Madrid internal policies and protocols.
  • Keeps up on current technology trends and tools (hardware and software) that best suit the production (and the company) in the development of a stronger creative technical environment.
  • Coordinates with other departments to develop and implement solutions for the show using procedural techniques.
  • Designs deformations to create a wide range of motions and facial expressions for the characters according to the storyboard.
  • Works closely with the Animators to ensure the characters support the required acting range for the film.
  • Follows the brief to produce complex, productionready, highquality rig deformations.
  • Acts as the primarily contact person and is responsible of the department.
  • Collaborates and keeps a fluid communication with other departments.
  • Assigns the work to each team member, according to his or her skills set.
  • Gives guidance to the team, supervises the quality of the work, andworks closely with production to completedeadlines.
  • Partners with HR and TA to source and recruit the best talent in the industry.
  • Mentors potential upandcoming artists to guide them in their career paths.
  • Acts as a company ambassador utilizing his/her extensive network in the industry and plays a key role in selling the studio as a firstclass place of work, maintaining ongoing relationships with key industry players, contributing to Skydance'sreputation.

Requirements:


  • 8+ years in VFX or animation industries.
  • 4+ years of experience as Lead in the animation industry.
  • A strong creative background as proven leader in setting direction for a production and for inspiring and motivating a team.
