Description

CONTEXT OF ROLE
Progress To Change runs two Approved Premises (formerly known as Probation and Bail Hostels) in Leeds. Ripon House provides a service for women offenders and Cardigan House works with male offenders. Both Approved Premises (AP) operate alongside the National Probation Service (NPS) Approved Premises. Nationally there are fourteen APs that are independently managed. All APs operate to a national agreement / rules.

APs provide three inter-related functions, public protection, rehabilitation and residential services. APs mainly accommodate those on licence following release from custody. APs deliver an enhanced regime. This focuses on purposeful activities linked to resettlement and based on an understanding of desistence research. Activities are based on the nine resettlement pathways, which are underpinned by engagement and the case manager relationship. All APs are in the process of becoming Enabling Environments. Ripon House has the EE Award.
