Reed Business Support are working with one of our Edinburgh based clients that have an exciting and interesting newly created role within their business.


As part of this role you will also oversee our specialist Bid Management Team who manage all of the organisations large or strategically important key customer bids.

The team are responsible for acting as a central function, working closely with the salesteam and account managers to co-ordinate and deliver a successful bid, tender or proposal.


Across these areas this role will hold ultimate business responsibility for our Customer propositions covering all aspects of commercial and service deliverables.

Key accountabilities/tasks:

  • Business wide responsibility for the ownership of our customer product offerings including scoping, development and implementation of compelling customer propositions.
  • Commercial ownership of all propositions including responsibility to justify and reason commercial business cases for developing new and retiring old propositions.
  • Leading the delivery of a best in class Propositions capability to drive operational excellence as a key enabler to support future growth.
  • Monitor and measure performance of active propositions against KPI's.
  • Act as a conduit between different sales and marketing subteams to ensure we have the right propositions aligned to specific customer cohorts and personas.
  • Ongoing management of multiple businesswide stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the current Bid Management Team (2 x FTE) driving continued performance improvements and maintaining our position as a market leader in this space.
  • Responsible for our contract management process with support of 1 direct FTE and access to support functions within our administration team.
  • Quality control and governance for external customer facing documentation in the propositions/product space.
  • Creation of a strong culture of high performance and customer service where success and performance are recognised.
  • Provide support to the Head of SME role in all elements of commercial governance and go to market strategy.
  • Present and gain signoff at an Executive Director level for new commercial propositions as well as supporting the leadership team in strategic decisions based on appropriate customer cohort targeting and approach.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the information and records processed (received, created, used, stored, destroyed) on behalf of the company are managed in compliance

Knowledge and experience:

  • Previous experience of ownership and development of products and propositions in a B2B market.
  • Experience of operating in a B2B mass market in utilities, finance, insurance or similar.
  • Experience of managing multiple business functions within a department.
  • Experience of Customer mapping and segmentation modelling
