What will the apprentice be doing?
To play a critical role in the administration of the business HSE systems and supporting legal compliance.
The role will predominantly encompass working with the HSSE department and other areas (as directed) to develop systems with the intention of increasing efficiencies and visibility of legal compliance across departmental teams.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES H&S:
- Support the HSE department in the development of its safety intelligence, including administration of the action log to ensure all events attributed correctly and relevant files uploaded to support safety intelligence gathering.
- Become a 'super user' for the new reporting system within DFDS Seaways PLC, Immingham.
- Assist with development of H&S communications to ensure effectiveness and share information across all operating sites including monthly updating of TV screens (via Xibo) and messaging; distribution of newsletters; updating H&S notice boards and updating HSE posters across the site at intervals as prescribed by the Head of HSE.
- Support HSE department in minute taking and contributions at meetings. Attend relevant meeting to provide updates on progress in system development as required.
- Act as administrator for the uploading of documentation to our Compliance People system including risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Provide guidance and assistance in the development of our SharePoint system and ways we can improve the overall look and appeal of the system, making it more user friendly to key stakeholders.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
- End-Point Assessment (EPA)
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship there may be opportunity for further education or a permanent role within the business.
