Description

We're looking for an Export Operator, to be based at our office in Manchester. To support the export team with our ever growing air, ocean and road export products.

You will co-ordinate the movement of all shipments, including customs clearances and transportation, and will be responsible for developing the business relationship between the company and existing customers.

We work as one team striving to achieve excellence, so you'll be motivated to develop strong relationships with our Commercial, Warehouse and Transport teams to ensure efficient and effective handling of shipments.

Key Responsibilities

Endtoend working knowledge of export air, ocean and land processes and procedures.
Export customs clearance knowledge.
Developing relationships with clients and providing excellent customer service.
Dealing with internal teams to ensure client KPIs are achieved and exceeded.
Shipment profitability and margin management.
Negotiation and relationshipbuilding with suppliers.
Managing your portfolio of customers in line with agreed operating procedures.
Creating customerspecific reports.
Good market awareness.
Working as part of a team and providing support and cover for colleagues during absences.

Skills & Knowledge

Background in forwarding / logistics.
Experience in a similar role.
Export air experience.
Dedicated to providing the highest levels of customer service.
Team player.
Robust time management and organisational skills.
Confident and articulate communicator.
Excellent commercial acumen.
Proficient in using MS Office.
Familiar with bespoke IT software packages.
Knowledge of CargoWise is an advantage.
