Prestigious International Bank based in London, are looking to recruit a Credit Analyst.

The role is responsible for assisting the Head of Credit Approval in ensuring credit quality at the approval stage, monitoring the on-going credit dynamics of the creditportfolio at a macro and micro level post sanction and the compliance of credit risk with Group policy and local regulatory guidelines.


Key accountabilities include analysing financial information, ensuring credit quality at the approval stage, reviewing the on-going credit dynamics of the credit portfolio post sanction and the compliance of credit risk with Group policy and local regulatoryguidelines.

Other responsibilities will also include;

  • Objectively assess referred BTL and commercial financing deals to policy and mandate.
  • Meet KPIs related to review of credit requests, reporting and other performance standards.
  • Ensure all major queries are resolved prior to the case being submitted to the Head of Credit Approval.
  • Highlighting any shortfall to the credit process chain.
  • Documentation of proposal related information to be in conformity with requirements as set out internally.
  • Check monthly/quarterly portfolio review reports.
  • Preparation of various reports sanctioning committees and annual reviews.
  • Monitoring and performance review of existing portfolio.
  • Maintain electronic filing of all credit requests and diarising for the receipt of information from the branches.
  • To remain up to date with the changes in bank's business profile, internal systems and processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake projects and assignments from time to time as directed by the Head of Credit Approval.
  • Liaison with Credit Administration, ACPM, Finance, Compliance & Audit for processes relating to Credit Approval function.
The following key functional and behavioural competencies are required for this role;

  • Sound understanding of the UK market for SME lending & Trade Finance.
  • High level of understanding of financial statements
  • Sound understanding of Risks and Mitigants for On-Balance sheet and Off-Balance Sheet credit facilities.
  • Understanding of BASEL and PRA & FCA Risk Guidelines, Calculations and Policy Adherence
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel, spreadsheets, database tools
  • Knowledge of Emerging Markets SMEs, Business models, market trends and industry trends is preferred.
  • Workout knowledge for problematic corporate accounts is desirable.
  • Strong academic and professional qualification background
  • 2+ years of commercial risk management experience with direct exposure to decision making and sanctioning procedures
  • Direct exposure gained from tenure spent in Relationship Management Team
