The Pokémon Company International, a subsidiary of The Pokémon Company in Japan, manages the property outside of Asia and is responsible for brand management, licensing, marketing, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, the animated TV series, home entertainment, and the official Pokémon website.

Pokémon was launched in Japan in 1996 and today is one of the most popular children's entertainment properties in the world.


_ Get to know the role_

  • Job Title: Broadcast Producer
  • Job Summary: Provides direction, creative development, and management of global live broadcasted competitions in Europe. The broadcast producer will look after the full vertical of a show supporting competitions and products across one or more of Pokémon's organized play and esport programs.

_What you'll do _

  • Lead live broadcast productions for Organized Play and esports in Pokémon TCG, Pokémon VG & Pokémon GO ensuring projects remain on track and on budget.
  • Manage the workflow of Pokémon European Regional live events such as Run of Show, Talent Selection, Segment Creation, etc
  • Create and manage production schedules and deliverables, including project budgets, ensuring on time delivery of assets and successful execution of Pokémon European Regional shows in person.
  • Work with internal teams on properly telling the story of the Pokémon Championships, including Worlds.
  • Develop and manage broadcast schedules in coordination with internal and external stakeholders and vendors.
  • Regularly communicate all pertinent broadcast information with internal stakeholders and cross functional teams to ensure Pokémon European Regional broadcasts meet brand, legal, and game standards, by market and distribution platform.
  • Be a resource for new ideas, responsible for creative ideas and execution that lead to increased production value of Pokémon European Regional live events and broadcasts.
  • Investigate, propose, and implement new broadcast technology improving the viewer experience.
  • Oversee onsite execution of Pokémon TCG, Pokémon VG & Pokémon GO live broadcast initiatives including domestic and international travel.
  • Help clear interdepartmental dependencies to keep production moving.
  • Track performance, create regular reports, and provide analysis and insights based upon broadcast metrics.
  • Adhere to the quality level set by the Pokémon Events & Broadcasts team.

_What you'll bring _

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of related professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
  • Past experience working on a production line for a live broadcast.
  • Familiarity with Pokémon products, especially TCG, VG & GO.
  • Familiarity with the Pokémon TCG, VG & GO Community, including tournament meta and top players.
  • Expert knowledge of live competition show flow and common tournament formats including single elimination, double elimination, swiss, round robin, and multiphased events.
  • Expert in streaming and videoondemand platforms including Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter as well as software solutions to facilitate streaming such as xSplit and OBS.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite of products to support livestream creative and video.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
  • Experience managing live broadcast productions including contracting for production vendors and talent negotiation.
  • Experience designing/concepting overlays, scripts, runofshows, videos, talking points, story boards, and other assets to facilitate competitive broadcasts.
  • Experience supporting at least 300 hours of live broadcasts.
  • Experience with onsite production support of at least 15 live broadcasts.
  • While passion for the Pokémon brand is a plus it is not required, however knowledge of and a willingness to learn more about the brand is a must.
