Appointment 1:
Mathematics Teaching Assistant





FTE:
17.5 hours Teaching Assistant, 5 mornings, term time only


We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, adaptable and skilled teaching assistant initially for 2 terms with the opportunity to extend, to offer support across KS2 and KS1 for 5 mornings, 8.30am to 12pm, as directed by the Head, SENCO and Class Teachers.

These hours may have the opportunity to extend beyond 2 terms, according to the needs of the school. You must have experience in KS2, including how to support individuals and small groups. Previous experience of interventions is desirable, but not essential.

We would like to appoint someone with a firm understanding of the Mathematics National Curriculum at KS1 and KS2, who can support small groups of children within the mathematics lesson to fill the gaps in their knowledge.

You should understand how to use concrete apparatus to support your understanding of mathematical concepts. This may suit someone with previous teaching or tutoring experience, but this is not essential.


Appointment 2:
EYFS/KS1 Teaching Assistant one to one





FTE:
13.5 hours Teaching Assistant, over 2.5 days, term time only


We are also looking for a teaching assistant initially for 2 terms, to support in EYFS/Year 1 mixed age class over 2.5 days, 9am to 3.15pm (lunch 12pm to 1pm) on a Monday and Thursday, and Friday morning 9am to 12pm.

We are looking for someone ideally with a clear understanding of the new EYFS Framework and experience in this age range, including how to set up an enabling environment.

This will be to provide one to one support for some children in the class; previous experience of speech and language therapy and supporting children with complex needs would be desirable.


Located in a small village just outside of Ipswich, the school is driven by a strong, nurturing ethos that supports the development of the whole child.

The school has four mixed age classes, and we are keen to appoint two enthusiastic and highly motivated teaching assistants who can contribute to the delivery of a creative, engaging and challenging curriculum.

We are looking for two positive practitioners who are passionate about supporting the development of children.

You will be committed, enthusiastic and enjoy interaction with children, setting good examples and building confidence.

You will have good interpersonal skills including the ability to use judgement and common sense and be able to work on your own, using your initiative.

You will ideally have experience of working in mixed age classes.

You will carry out a range of teaching assistant tasks as a member of a friendly and supportive team.


You will need to:

- be able to use your own initiative as well as being able to work as part of a team
- have a good understanding of the Key Stage you are working in
- have the ability to take the initiative and adapt work to the child or situation

- have the ability to work both in the classroom and outside of the classroom.


You will be:

- working in our school and supporting an individual child, or group of children as the teacher directs
- working under the direction of a teacher following class planning and supporting children
- feeding back to the teacher and commenting on progress towards the set targets
- supporting individual children within the class and on the playground
- preparing work such as group games, one to one directed work, using a variety of methods.
