Job Summary:
We are seeking a Service Assistant to join our team.

Duties

To assist the Cleaning Support Services Manager with all aspects of administrative tasks relevant to the Building Cleaning Department.

  • To be a point of contact for cleaning operatives including for payroll queries and annual leave requests.
  • To update building cleaning payroll system and overtime returns. In the absence of the Cleaning Services Support Manager, be responsible for sending the completed overtime returns to the Cleaning Operations Manager.
  • To complete various reports for the department by inputting data including weekly operational reports, agency usage, Health and Safety inspections and overtime reports.
  • To collate and provide statistical information as required i.e., spreadsheet management
  • To use computer related systems to perform relevant tasks associated with inputting and extracting data.
  • To assist in the scheduling of Building Cleaning staff for meetings / training events / DBS renewals or similar.
  • To record staff absences on the relevant spreadsheets.
  • To prepare a monthly newsletter.
  • To use new technology with appropriate training.
  • To provide administration support and operational support at an elevated level to the Building Cleaning Services Management team and cleaning operatives.
  • To maintain appropriate filing and record keeping systems, both manual and computerised, in relation to the smooth running of the office.
  • To provide other services as relevant to the team's service level agreement and to support managers and line manager relevant to the post
  • The flexibility and ability to work outside normal hours.
  • To achieve agreed service outcomes and outputs, and personal appraisal targets.
  • To undertake training and constructively take part in meetings, supervision, and other events designed to improve communication and assist with the effective development of the post and post holder.
  • The post holder is expected to be committed to the Council's core values of public service, quality, equality, and empowerment and to demonstrate this commitment in the way they carry out their duties.
  • To support the energy management processes within the building in carrying out and enforcing energy reduction guidelines.
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the Council's Health and Safety Policy and relevant building cleaning related legislation.
  • Any other reasonable request commensurate with the grade.

Job Type:
Temporary contract

Contract length: 3 months


Pay:
£16.12 per hour

Expected hours: 21 per week


Experience:

- administrative role in a complex organisation: 1 year (required)

  • Microsoft packages Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • DBS (required)
