About the role:
This role is for current 2nd year undergraduate University of Derby Students Only
To work within the Student Employment Agency within the Careers and Employment Service (CES) supporting, promoting, and developing the service functions.
The role includes supporting students in their registration with the SEA and any ongoing questions, queries, or requests for support, undertaking Right to Work checks and the data management and the governance / compliance that sits alongside this.
This role will also be key in the marketing of the Student Employment Agency to students and to internal and external clients, present and prospective.
The interview date for this role will be from 23/4/24.The proposed start date is 29/7/24.
Principal accountabilities:
- Support SEA team members with collation of New Starter Packs, undertake training to gain a full knowledge of RTW checks and support with these once trained as and when required.
- Use the Eploy system to record Right to Work Checks, upload roles and process workers through the system as required. Use CareerHub system as and when required.
- Work with the team to keep Eploy up to date with correct information and all roles are archived once completed.
- Represent and promote the Student Employment Agency to students, graduates through all available channels including social media with an aim to increasing student engagement with the agency and roles. Promoting specific roles as and when required.
- Work with the wider team to identify areas for business development, conduct desk based research and calls to support this.
- Support CES events, engaging in the planning process as required through to attending events to represent the service.
- To research best practice in commercial awareness and update LMI information, with a specific focus on agency work inside and outside of HE Institutions
- Support the operation of the CES Hubs (Kedleston Road and Markeaton Street) promoting the CES service offer, welcoming students, offering first point of contact support and signposting, as well as live chat support.

Qualifications:
- University of Derby second year undergraduate student
Experience:
- Administration experience including data input
- Experience in telephone, reception or customer services work
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
- Ability to network effectively and work across teams
- Sound organisation skills with a methodical approach to workload
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate effectively with students, recent graduates, and all internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workloads
- Active listening skills
- Ability to follow procedures
Desirable Criteria:
Experience:
- Experience of using various social media platforms
Skills, knowledge and abilities:
- An understanding of HR compliance and governance issues
- An understanding of equality & diversity issues
- An understanding of temporary agency operation (could be through own experience of working for one)
