Title - Product Procurement

What is the main purpose of the role?

Maintain and develop excellent supplier relationships within the shipping container conversion product market.

This is a core area of our business, so it is crucial that sound commercial decisions are made with regard to suppliers and buying decisions.

Collaborate closely with the 'back-end' part of the business, across sales, sales management, and the senior leadership team to ensure a joined-up approach.

This role will be based on our site in Manchester M44 5FZ.

What are the key areas of responsibility?

Managing and nurturing a portfolio of existing suppliers and establishing new relationships that are commercially beneficial
Agreeing specifications and buying prices
Liaising with relevant shipping and logístical companies to organise and schedule goods in
Learning our stores procedures and helping with inventory deliveries and dispatch.
Working within existing frameworks and process to achieve desired levels of inventory
Developing and improving stock control / stock management with the management team
Introducing new products in coordination with the management team
Working closely with sales management team on growth initiatives

What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?

Knowledge of the shipping container industry and/or complementary market sectors will be required.
Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of results
Highly developed commercial acumen for interpreting the market to make buying decisions.
Sound sales and trading judgement to enable growth of existing and new products.
Data gathering and analysis to make informed buying decisions.
Good communication skills, used to working in a collaborative way
