Job Overview

Front of house/Facilities Management Operative required for SGN Inchcolm Training Centre, West Shore Road, EH5 1QB

Monday to Friday at 7:30-11:30 rate of pay £12.80

Background
SGN's Training Centre in Edinburgh is increasing its capacity and could have 50-60 trainees per day plus associated trainers.

The site will comprise of 2 x separate modular buildings/portacabins which contain classrooms, kitchens, reception area and a larger office in the main portacabin.

The site also has training workshops and external "cottages" for training purposes.

We require a part-time person to fulfil a Front of House / Facilities Management Operative type role, Monday - Friday AM - 20 hours per week.


This role includes dealing with many stakeholders/colleagues, so ideally this person should be responsible, sociable and with a can-do attitude.

Some basic computer skills would be an advantage.


Hours required

7.30am am - Monday - Friday Not a lot of flexibility in hours, as this person would be expected to open the site.


Job description
Below are just some of the duties expected. However, the role is varied and once on site, training will be provided for any other tasks not listed.

  • Opening the site and checking for any issues which require attention and reporting these to our Property Team and site responsible person. This includes site security checks.
  • Inspecting the site, ensuring it's ready for occupation (checking classrooms are ready, toilets have adequate consumables etc, water machines have cups and vending machine is operational and well stocked).
  • Dealing with enquiries (e.g., directing trainees to the correct Training room etc, dealing with on site parking issues when required)
  • Receiving and distributing mail.
  • Replenishing photocopier and changing ink cartridges.
  • Ensuring stationary stock is sufficient and ordering when required.
  • Receiving deliveries.
  • Signing in various building maintenance contractors and setting them to work (e.g., water, fire, pest control, ground maintenance etc.)
  • Responsible for compliance tasks on site (weekly fire alarm testing, fire extinguisher, emergency light checks etc)
  • Taking monthly utility meter readings.
Deliver excellent service standards for the delivery of routine planned and periodic cleaning for a Mitie customer.

Ensure the contract service delivery is of a high standard, meeting all SLA agreements whilst adhering to the cleaning schedules.


Main Duties

  • To undertake successfully all training required to deliver the cleaning role.
  • Individuals will be required to work within a team and can work under their own initiative.
  • Adhere to all Mitie Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
