The role
Do you want to be part of a vibrant, growing team in Politics and International Studies at the Open University? Do you want to contribute to teams working at the forefront of teaching and learning in Politics and International Studies and conducting innovative research?


If so, we are seeking a lecturer to join POLIS, part of the School of Social Sciences and Global Studies (SSGS).

The post is full-time and for 22 months (1st August 2023 to 31st May You will have or be developing an excellent record in teaching and contribute to the teams presenting and producing innovative learning resources across our politics and international studies curriculum. In particular, you will work with the teams creating two new undergraduate distance learning modules in International Relations.

You will have or be developing appropriate REF-quality publications and be able to make a significant contribution to our interdisciplinary culture.


Skills and experience


You will have some experience of teaching and experience of, or an understanding of the challenges of, online and distance teaching.

You will be an active researcher producing high quality research outputs in politics and international studies or any of its sub-fields appropriate for career stage.

You will have a demonstrable commitment to collaborative curriculum development, teaching and research.
