Description

The DDTS Chief Operating Office is recruiting a Digital Assurance Specialist to join the Digital and Technology Standards Assurance [DTSA] team.

DTSA manage the GDS Service Assessment process, Government Spend Control and DDTS Project Stage Gate Process for Defra Projects providing a unique opportunity to work across the broad portfolio of projects and services.


This is a crucial role in ensuring that digital services from Defra adhere to government standards by meeting user needs or using the right technology to help implement good quality and easy to use digital services that encourage people to use them.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate assessments efficiently and effectively, working closely with assessors within Defra
  • Coordinate some assessments with crossgovernment assessors
  • Work with several teams to help them through the service standard assessment process
  • Stay up to date with Government Assurance Standards and ensure changes are communicated to stakeholders
  • Deliver regular training to Programme, Project, and Delivery Managers across DDTS, ensuring they are aware of their Assurance obligations in line with the Project Delivery Lifecycle and ensuring a consistency of approach across the portfolio
  • Maintain databases and coordinate reporting across the DTSA team to meet the team's reporting obligations including quarterly Business Reviews, Joint Assurance Review (JAR) Board and monthly boards
  • Manage and engage with a wide range of stakeholders. Draft and provide recommendations to Senior Managers on Assurance Activities

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstration of excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working in a deliveryfocussed, agile environment identifying issues and risks
  • Experience of working in a project or programme management office with experience of planning, governance and risk or has experience of managing a project, programme or strand of activity
  • Experience of working with digital services or in a digital environment
  • Knowledge of Programme and/or Project Assurance processes including Government Service Assessments and the Spend Control pipeline
  • Experience of using portfolio management as a tool for managing organisational change
  • Comfortable with dealing with ambiguity and being accountable for making decisions and judgements, when all the information isn't known
  • Experience of portfolio management methods & tools such as Microsoft Project Online, Excel and SharePoint Online

£37,295.00-£44,724.00 per year
