Overview:


Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting an established business in Middlesbrough in the search of an Buyer - Engineering.

This company over the last several years, has gone from strength to strength and continues to build an excellent reputation across the Teesside area.

You will sit directly with the Engineering team to execute day to day procurement activities, with a dotted line to the current Procurement function.

Responsibilities:


  • Manage the tender/RFP/RFQ process for Engineering sourcing projects including, bid evaluation, negotiating all commercial terms and conditions aimed at reducing cost, minimising risk and optimising business processes for engineering goods, equipment, plant and services;
  • Encourage and influence Engineering stakeholders to ensure key spend categories including capital are directed through the Procurement function;
  • Deliver a Compliant procurement service to the Engineering department that meets company Procurement Policy and Process;
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring favourable contractual terms and conditions and specifications, deliverables and performance metrics are clear and can be easily quantified.
  • Work with the legal function to construct the necessary contractual arrangements for Engineering contracts to ensure all contractual terms and conditions are approved and corporate risk is minimised;
  • Key contact for the Engineering team for all engineering related procurement queries.

Skills and Experience:


  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a buyer within an engineering environment or with an engineering background;
  • Selfmotivated, with the ability to work without supervision and to work crossfunctionally;
  • CIPS qualified (desirable or working toward becoming fully qualified
- sponsored by company);
