Are you a Graduate who has a keen interest in supporting students in mainstream secondary school with mixed SEN needs?

Do you have experience assisting individuals with SEN needs?

Would you like a full-time role as a teaching assistant?


Teaching Personnel have a great opportunity for passionate and dedicated Psychology Graduates to work in wonderful SEN specialist schools located around North Yorkshire.

All staff are highly ambitious; therefore, we are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting their students and ensure every student reaches their full potential by having high expectations for all.


Job Specification:

  • Hold/Predicted a degree (2:2 or above)
  • Previous experience working with young people with learning difficulties or social, emotional and mental health (preferred but not essential)
  • Be passionate about supporting children with their learning
  • Be enthusiastic, friendly and confident with supporting those with SEN.
  • Have a commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities

Key responsibilities within the role:

  • Attend to the social, sensory, emotional and behavioural needs of young children with Autism and complex disabilities.
  • Providing support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Building and maintaining successful relationships with students, whilst treating them with respect and consideration
  • Have the highest expectation that every student will make sustained academic and personal progress
  • Ensure that every pupil is ready for the next steps in their learning and is supported to participate and contribute to the class.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
