An opportunity has arisen for a
Machine Setter/Operator to join our Tape Production Department.

Applicants must have previous experience of setting and operating complex production machinery and be able to demonstrate an understanding of mechanical fixtures and using tools including vernier calipers.


The keys to success in this role are:

  • excellent troubleshooting skills; an eye for fine detail; good dexterity and the ability to demonstrate a consistently high standard of work
- positive, motivated and amiable; can use own initiative to drive standards and deliver great product quality and customer service.
- ensure the safe set up and operation of the equipment, completing all required steps to make excellent carrier tape in line with specified tolerances and industry standard
- ensure the quality of finished product meets set targets with regards to quality, quantity, and timescales required
- effective report writing on all issues with machines or product in our production logs; paperwork is vital for traceability of our customers product
- using all the great skills you bring from your previous engineering and/or manufacturing roles

**Who your customers will be:
- **Your internal customers will be your fellow colleagues within the Tape & Reel Department, where you will provide a consistent standard of Carrier Tape product to meet their requirements.


Your external customers will vary from medical, automotive to electronic; and it is these important customers who will be buying the product that
you make.


What your key skills and experiences are:

  • have proven engineering and/or manufacturing experience
  • this bit it essential
- knowledge of safe machine practice standards and a hands on approach to setting up and running machine
- ability to understand and implement technical instruction from manuals, to receive instruction from the intense training given by our Production Manager
- ability to do small to moderate repairs on machinery and demonstrate experience in working with machinery
- to demonstrate pragmatic approach to problem solving
- ability to demonstrate using tools including vernier calipers

Additional Details:


  • Dayshift/Backshift Rotating Hours 6am 2pm, & 2pm
  • Midnight 40 hours per week
  • A comprehensive training plan will be included as part of this position
  • Training will initially be carried out during dayshift hours minimum of 2 weeks and does not include shift allowance
  • Pension provided by AEGON above the government standard minimum
- £25,819.73 total annual salary inclusive of shift allowance on successful completion of training and on adopting shift pattern

£21,673.60-£25,819.73 per year
