This is an Annex 21 post.

70% of the top of band 3 for the 1st year (which equates to £17,035) and then 75% of the top of band 3 for the 2nd year (which equates to £18,252).

Apprenticeship roles are paid in line with Annex 21 of the terms and conditions at between 60-75% of the maximum point on the pay band.

The minimum hourly rate will match the national living wage.


An exciting new opportunity has arisen to join Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust as an Innovation Centre Administration Apprentice in our Innovation team based at Alder Hey Innovation Hub.


As this is an apprenticeship position, this role is supported by an accompanying knowledge and skills development programme during which the post holder will gain the relevant knowledge, skills and behaviours for this role.

Learning will be delivered in the workplace through formal on and off the job training; allowing for the opportunity to practice new skills within a real working environment.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the individual will have the right knowledge, skills behaviours they need for their chosen role.

The post holder will be supported to work towards completion of the following qualification:
Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship with Wirral Met College.


We are seeking an innovative, creative person to work with Alder Hey Innovation to support the planning and coordinating the work of the department.

You will be a natural people person able to get along with all walks of life and be agile and output-driven in your work.


The post holder will complete a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard with Wirral Met College and will study for at least six off-the-job (OTJ) hours (per week) of their working hours with the named college and at their place of work.

This will include a mixture of face to face tuition at Alder Hey and through MS Teams as well as the apprentice having their own portfolio.


  • Please be advised that the OTJ hours is a mandatory requirement for the Apprenticeship.


The post holder will work under the direction of the line manager/mentor and will be required to work flexibly to ensure the needs of the service are met.

For those individuals joining the Trust to undertake an Apprenticeship, it is expected that the Apprenticeship be fully completed.

If the post holder does not fully complete the Apprenticeship, including End Point Assessment (EPA) this would be in breach of both this agreement and the requirements for this role and the employment contract may be terminated.

Innovation Hub room booking

Support Innovation Operational Manager with HR activities e.g. annual leave management

Performance Management


Support the wider Innovation Team Consultants to co-ordinate the operational management of innovation services and activities to ensure that all services provide high quality, effective services in an efficient manner.
