About us
Bilsthorpe village has an electorate of 1870 and growing rapidly. The village is located towards the centre of Nottinghamshire.


The Parish Council own a larger Village Hall which is partially occupied by a mining museum with the other part currently closed for rebuild/renovation.


The Council is made up of 11 Councillors who meet monthly, on the second Monday of the month at 6.30pm.

The appointed Clerk and RFO will also act as the Council's Responsible Finance Officer (RFO).

The Council own and maintain 2 public open spaces, both equipped with play and gym equipment.

The role:
The Clerk and RFO has overall responsibility for administering all Council finances, services and activities. This includes management of premises and facilities, project management and events management support.

The Clerk is expected to advise the Parish Council on, and assist in the formation of policies, and to produce all the information required for effective decision making and implementation.

The Clerk is responsible for the management of the Council's one staff member.


Requirements:
Local government experience. Good organisation and communication skills. Experience in team management and mentorship.


Working arrangements:

The role is 30 hours per week, predominantly home based with monthly meetings and subcommittee meetings held at a community facility within the village.

You will be expected to attend events/meetings or carry out work within the village at least once a week. The role requires some flexible working, with occasional evenings and weekends.
