Applications are invited for an executive assistant to manage the administrative office of Professor John Gallacher, with his portfolio of high-value research grants and his university role within the Department of Psychiatry


These include:

The post is for a fixed term (funded to 31 December 2025) and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital.


In addition, the role is central to the maintenance of a friendly and cohesive atmosphere across the team based in Oxford and the wider team based at partner organisations around the UK and internationally.

You will work closely with key members of the teams on the two exciting grants mentioned above and others as they are developed.


You will be educated to degree standard (or equivalent), with experience of managing the office of a senior member of staff, including diary management, and making complex travel arrangements.

You will have the ability to draft correspondence and produce well-presented reports and have the highest level of professionalism, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with confidential information, sensitive issues or high-profile contacts.

Experience of working within a Higher Education institution, and line management experience would be desirable.
