This is a temp to perm position

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our team at a leading steel fabrication and ductwork manufacturing company based in Leicester.

As a Fabricator/Welder, you will be responsible for producing high-quality steel fabrications and ductwork components according to specifications, drawings, and project requirements.

This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent welding skills, and a commitment to producing work of the highest standard.

Responsibilities:

Fabricate and weld steel components and ductwork assemblies based on project specifications and drawings.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical plans to determine fabrication requirements.
Select and prepare materials for fabrication, ensuring proper measurements and dimensions are maintained.
Operate various fabrication machinery and equipment, including cutting, shaping, and bending tools.
Utilize welding techniques (MIG, TIG, and arc welding) to join and secure metal components.
Inspect fabricated products to ensure they meet quality standards and project requirements.
Conduct basic maintenance and repairs on fabrication tools and equipment as needed.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to promote a safe working environment.
Maintain accurate records of materials used, time spent on projects, and completed work.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Fabricator/Welder, preferably in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical plans.
Strong welding skills with experience in MIG, TIG, and arc welding techniques.
Knowledge of various fabrication tools and equipment, including cutting, shaping, and bending machines.
Ability to accurately measure and cut materials to required specifications.
Detailoriented with a focus on producing highquality workmanship.
Familiarity with different types of steel and their properties.
Excellent problemsolving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to meet project deadlines.
Commitment to workplace safety and knowledge of safety procedures.
Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant certification in welding or fabrication.
Previous experience in ductwork fabrication or HVAC industry.
Proficiency in using fabrication software or computeraided design (CAD) programs.

Salary:

£12.50 to £14 per hour dependant on experience
