I am exclusively recruiting on behalf of an SME business who due to expansion is seeking an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller to join their business at an exciting time in their evolution.

The role will report into the MD and Non-Exec FD and will include the below responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance Function and its relationship with other departments within the Company

  • Preparation of Monthly Consolidated management accounts
  • Maintenance and development of reporting across the group divisions and development of appropriate KPI's
  • Management of Cash Flow and Treasury Function, including Cash Flow Forecasting
  • Assist with the Company's project to upgrade its IT systems and improve processes across the Company
  • Support the senior management with the daytoday relationship with key stakeholders, banks, auditors, and advisors
  • Assist the senior management team with detailed analytical reviews of financial performance, including departmental and revenue margins and overhead costs to support decision making and sales and marketing initiatives
  • Ensure ongoing HMRC compliance, including preparation of returns such as VAT returns, P11D returns & PAYE compliance
  • Oversee and manage payroll
  • Identify, implement, and document opportunities for scalable improvements to financial reporting, controls, and processes to support the Group's growth
  • Ad hoc financial reporting and analysis to support financial decisions
  • Thorough technical knowledge, including management accounting and financial reporting
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with strong accounting and analytical skills
  • Experience of using, SAGE (200/ 50) and of system implementation would be ideal
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Preferably experience in retail, B2C service sectors
  • Understanding of payroll processes
  • Handson and a 'can do' attitude with a professional, positive and energic approach
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet monthly deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a small team and communicate effectively with all departments across the Company
