Job Summary:
Primarily responsible for the shift applicable to your role. You will be responsible for supervising Assistant Supervisors & all Operatives in your team
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ensuring that the quality, qualifications and experience of _all_ team staff is appropriate to their roles
- Ensuring agreed staffing levels are in place and that agency use is kept to a minimum and only used in exceptional circumstances
- Responsibility for the health and safety of staff based in the team ensuring all health and safety operational policies are adhered to
- Recording and reporting accidents in accordance with company policy
- Ensuring all warehouse service levels are maintained (see below) at the same time as keeping costs at a minimum
- Weekly reporting to Warehouse Manager on team performance and efficiencies
- Ensuring all your staff receive monthly 1 to 1's and annual appraisals
- Promoting good behaviours from all staff
- Motivating, mentoring, encouraging and training your staff to get the maximum productivity from each member of the team
- Effective management of underperforming staff in line with company guidelines
- Planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, picking and dispatch of tyres
- Perform team briefings effectively communicating the expectations of your shift
- Ensuring machinery used on your shift is being handled in a safe manner and investigating any damage taking appropriate action when required to do so
Responsible for warehouse efficiencies and service levels including:
- Ensuring each shift is working to maximum efficiency and service levels and ensuring, inter alia:
- all tyres are picked accurately and efficiently to enable deliveries to go out at the required times and reducing shortages to the absolute minimum
- all staff are trained to a standard necessary to do the job effectively
- staff holiday is managed effectively and that it is covered internally without the need for agency
- all warehouse costs are closely monitored and kept under tight control
- isys is kept accurate and up to date for all warehouse staff
- that the warehouse and depot is kept in a tidy and well-maintained state

Qualifications and Experience:
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of legal requirements of running a warehouse
- Ability to plan and organise
- Ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team of people.
- Experience of a warehouse environment
- Managerial experience
- Experience of dealing with disciplinary and grievance issues
- Numerate
- IOSH qualification an advantage
Person Specification:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent people management skills, including the ability to lead and motivate others, delegate wok and explain ideas
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Capable of implementing positive change.
Working Hours:
- Sunday 10:30 20:00
- Thursday 08:30 18:00
- 30 minute daily unpaid break.
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
£28,000.00 per year
