Senior Project Surveyor

c. £52,000 per annum plus benefits & Car Allowance
The projects team leads major projects and homeownership projects forming part of the core investment programmes.

As the Senior Project Surveyor, you will manage a team of between 4-6 reports delivering an overall programme in the range of £20m.


Reporting to the Head of Projects & Contracts, you will be responsible for the delivery Projects and management of supply chain relationships.

You will also hold responsibility for specifications, tendering and project delivery works through supplier relationships. Examples of projects include

  • Homeownership (Leasehold) works
  • Care home decorations and other works
  • One off works requiring specifications
  • Other responsibilities will include:
  • Delivery of projects to either start on site stage or completion on site.
  • Implement projects in coordination with the property delivery team.
  • Liaison with internal and external stakeholder relationships including contractors, portfolio strategy team, sustainability team and housing/care operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory/statutory and internal governance/policy requirements and make recommendations for improvements
  • Building a resilient service and organisation

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have/be;

  • You will be able to demonstrate our values (which are Accountable, Respectful, Courageous and Strong).
  • A track record of delivering property projects, including homeownership (S20) programmes.
  • A demonstrable track record of engaging with high value, complex partnering contracts delivering high levels of customer satisfaction on time and within budget.
  • Has lead teams through change ensuring that working practices deliver effective and efficient ways of working and meet local need.
  • Has worked with colleagues and customers in reviewing service offers and specifications that deliver improved services and communicated effectively to both staff and residents.
  • An effective people manager with strong leadership skills and ability to motivate individuals and teams to achieve and exceed performance requirements.

You should also be:

  • Preferably educated to degree level or substantial relevant experience.
  • Preferably a professional qualification or working towards an appropriate to the role e.g. MCIOB, MRICS

It would be great if you also have:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that non-technical people understand
  • Ability to constructively challenge others, including senior people, to ensure they are acting in the best interests of the organisation, while maintaining professional relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work with mínimal supervision and plan and organise personal workload to ensure priorities and deadlines are met
