Location Blackburn Foyer, 1A Prince's St, Blackburn BB2 1LS**
Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week

Mondays to Fridays 7:30am - 11:00am

We are looking to recruit an experienced cleaner with good communication skills to join our established team at our Blackburn Foyer Young Person Scheme.

The scheme provides support and accommodation for your people aged Reporting to our Foyer Manager our cleaners provide a consistent high standard cleaning service in all communal areas and void flats.


As a Cleaner you be;

  • Cleaning and disinfecting communal baths, showers areas and mopping floors
  • Cleaning and maintaining our laundry facilities by sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning filters and keeping equipment clean.
  • Removing marks from walls, doors etc and clean paintwork
  • Dusting furniture and equipment
  • To be responsible for the emptying and cleaning of bins, cigarette bins refuse areas, recycling areas and for keeping entrances clear of litter and leaves.
  • Clean void properties to a high standard for proposed new tenants.
  • Order stores/cleaning materials required using the computerised system with the Foyer Assistant.

What we are looking for;

  • Experience of providing a cleaning service in an office / residential setting
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with customers face to face
  • Understanding of Health and Safety (COSHH) regulations with regards to providing a cleaning service.
  • Ability to use ICT packages for basic tasks
  • A positive attitude and ability to provide a customer focused service to our residents.
