About the Role
We are looking for a talented individual to join the Asset team as a
Purchasing Assistant.

You will use your judgement, organisational abilities, and communication skills to manage the delivery of equipment purchases, from purchase order confirmation through to successful installation.

This is a permanent and full time role.

We work hybrid - 2 days a week in our Glasgow office (Tuesday, Thursday) and 3 days a week from home (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).

The first 2 weeks of employment will be full time in the office for training and onboarding.

This would be a great opportunity for an ambitious graduate, or someone with a customer support background.

What will you be doing?

  • Our equipment buyers manage the tender, negotiation, and decisionmaking part of the purchasing process. You will then take ownership once the order is placed to ensure the orders are processed accurately by suppliers and delivered to customers seamlessly.
  • You will quickly learn about the equipment buying process, seeking to understand any customer restrictions or requirements around the installation as well as how the suppliers, manufacturers and engineers manage delivery.
  • Using your knowledge, you will provide a high standard of customer service, solving issues and delivering results, doing whatever it takes to get a great resolution
  • You will report back to project teams and customers on order status and manage any issues or changes liaising between customers and suppliers.
  • You will support the rest of the team, helping them and building your knowledge on the whole purchasing process.

What are we looking for?

  • Ideally, experience in a similar role.
  • You will thrive in a fastpaced environment, great at organising your time, priorities and ensuring you meet any deadlines.
  • You will have an investigative mind, keen to understand any situation, and creative in your problem solving.
  • You will enjoy communicating, articulating summaries, and highlighting issues along with solutions. You will be able to confidently communicate with a range of audiences, both internally and externally.
  • You will have a 'can do' attitude, with the ability to 'flex' and perform as a strong team player.
This role is part of a fast-paced and experienced team. If you're looking to develop your skills and likes to work as part of a team - this could be an opportunity for you
