We are looking for Finance Manager to partner with our business including new contract evaluation, revenue and gross margin analysis and customer sales performance.

This is a brilliant opportunity to provide expertise, leadership and the insight to supportstrategic business planning, budgeting & forecasting

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts
  • Preparation and review of lead schedules and balance sheet reconciliations to support the monthly management accounts and statutory financial documents
  • Statutory and internal audit support
  • Perform monthly cost centre expenditure reviews by collaborating with cost centre managers to identify monthly accruals and prepayments and to analyse and report on performance, ensuring appropriate commentary is prepared for management accounts and for FP&Apurposes
  • Preparation and presentation of cost centre performance to senior management and cost centre managers
  • Collaborate with FP&A team and cost centre managers in preparing future budgets
  • Establish a relationship with R&D cost centre managers to understand current and planned internal R&D projects
  • Design and maintain financial models to support capitalisation of R&D and other technical accounting matters
  • Assist with the calculation of the capitalisation of R&D expenditure including preparation of technical accounting memo submitted to the auditors
  • Collaborate with the tax teams in the collation and extraction of expenditure necessary to support the company's R&D tax credit claimAssist with the preparation of the R&D tax credit claim for review by the tax team
  • Preperation of IFRS2 share information for internal and statuory reporting purposes including reconciling transactions data to the company Shareworks account
  • Responsibility for indirect tax projects on an ad hoc basis as required
  • Business partnering with FP&A, Accounts payable, Procurement and Business systems teams in ensuring information is recorded in the accounting system with sufficient level of detail at source to support R&D capitalisation analysis
  • Working with the Finance business systems team in collecting and analysing data in an efficient way to be used in the preparation of monthly accruals and prepayments calculations and reconciliations
  • Reviewing and supervising research agreements to establish when key licence payments or landmark payments are due
  • Business partnering with the Intellectual Property teams to understand, review, manage and track the company's research agreements and licenses from a financial perspective
  • Collaborate with the revenue accountants and senior IP teams in creating and maintaining royalty calculation models
  • Interpretation of accounting standards, preparation of impact assessments/technical accounting memos and supporting the implementation thereof
  • Support the review and consolidation of the foreign subsidiary results
  • Any other duties as might be required within the remit and responsibilities of the post.
What We're Looking For

  • We would like you to be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with proven post qualification experience ideally within commercial finance positions. Experience of interacting directly with senior leadership is valuable.
  • Evidence of an analytical approach to problem solving along with acute commercial awareness and a 'cando' approach
