Pay Range:
Local Government Scale 3, Point 4-5

The Role
We are seeking an outstanding individual to:
- Promote the inclusion of students within the classroom, ensuring they are able to access their lessons and their content through appropriate clarification, explanation and resources.
- Work in partnership with class teachers to support learning in line with the national curriculum, the SEN Code of Practice and the Professional Standards of Teaching Assistants in addition to the school policies and procedures.
- Proactively support SEN students with activities designed to enhance numeracy and literacy.
- Promote positive behaviour, raise selfesteem and encourage an aspirational culture.
- Support SEN students to foster their development as independent learners, utilising Information technology where appropriate.
- Proactively keywork a number of SEN students acting as a key contact and ensure Person Centred Planning is completed.
- Work with individuals with complex medical and/or physical needs ensuring their ability to access all areas of school. This may include the administering of medication and personal care.
This post is 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (term time, plus non-pupil days)
We're looking for you if you have:
- GCSE A
- C (or equivalent) Maths and English
- The ability to understand and support children with developmental difficulty or disability
- The ability to establish rapport and respectful and trusting relationships with children, their families and carers and other adults
- The ability to remain calm under pressure
- Understanding of and ability to implement the school's behaviour management policy
