Description
A successful manufacturing company require a Junior Buyer. Applicants should be early career purchasing or supply chain professionals. Equally applicants looking to transition into purchasing who have previously worked in engineering or manufacturing companies, are welcomed.

The Junior Buyer will join a team of Buyers led by an experienced and supportive Procurement Manager.

The Junior Buyer will focus on operational purchasing tasks in support of the Buyers, and will be exposed to more complex and strategic tasks as they develop/progress.

This is a fantastic, first or second job in procurement for someone who is detailed orientated, self-motivated and seeking a

progressive career.

Specific duties of the Junior Buyer include:

  • Raise and process purchase orders in the MRP system
  • Relationship building with suppliers and monitor performance
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders in production, engineering and quality
  • Investigate potential new suppliers in conjunction with Procurement Manager
  • Maintenance of procurement department records, databases etc.

Junior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Previous purchasing/supply chain experience, or a desire to move into purchasing or supply chain
  • Great communication and relationship building skills
  • Experience using MS Office, particularly MS Excel
  • Detailed and precise
  • Previous exposure to a manufacturing or engineering environment, would be advantageous
