TEAM LEADER MATERNITY COVER

  • To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the Nursery
  • To give support to other personnel within the Nursery, and to fully participate in rotas, team or planning meetings or other Events as identified by the management team.
  • To implement the daily routine in the base room.
  • To recognise that the safety of the children in the nursery setting is paramount and that all reasonable precautions are taken to prevent accidents.
  • To undertake all duties, tasks or activities reasonably requested by your Team Leader or the Management Team as required.
  • To identify any issues arising within your team, or between team members and to work with the team to resolve these, or refer to the management team as appropriate.
  • To ensure that there is no interruption to normal service delivery during the resolution of any disputes, issues or grievances.

Main Duties:

  • Formulate and operate a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in your area in conjunction with the Manager.
  • Prepare the children's records in your group and institute reviews for parents, in conjunction with the Manager.
  • Work with parents of special needs children to achieve full integration in the Nursery.
  • To ensure that you are fully aware of the dietary requirements of all children at nursery, either for cultural or medical reasons. To ensure that you double check with your Team leader each meal served to any child with special requirements There will be zero tolerance of any errors in this respect, as they are potentially life threatening.
  • Foresee the needs of special needs children and give physical, emotional, intellectual guidance as appropriate.
  • To act as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator working with the Key worker team to identify any additional educational needs.
  • Liaising with the Key worker team, in the first instance, to offer advice, support and guidance in cases where children are experiencing educational difficulties.
  • To act as a focal point between the Nursery Key Worker team, the parents / carer and any appropriate external agencies in cases where additional education needs have been identified.
  • To document, record and review all plans and outcomes of meetings with Key worker team, parents / carer and external agencies.
  • Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
  • Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
  • Liaise with the Local Authority and other professionals associated with the Nursery.
  • Attend monthly staff meetings outside working hours.
  • Undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment and such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the manager.
  • Participate in the training programmes of a wide variety of students (i.e. placements and volunteers), by giving guidance and support.
  • Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the project is fulfilled.
  • To ensure good standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times and be responsible for the Health and safety standards appropriate for the needs of young children.
  • Record accidents in the accident book. Ensure the manager has initialled the report before the parent receives it.
  • To ensure confidentiality of information received.
  • To develop and maintain good relationships and communications with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring needs.
  • Ensure child is collected by someone known to nursery.
  • Undertake other duties as may be requested from time to time by the Management Team.
  • Undertake certain domestic duties within the Nursery, i.e. preparation of snacks, cleansing of equipment.

Salary:
£22,400.00-£23,000.00 per year
