Supply Chain Coordinator

Office based in Saffron Walden, Essex

Salary Range:
£33,000 - £36,000 pa, plus excellent benefits


Applicants will need to be able to travel daily to the clients site in Saffron Walden. This is not a remote role
A Supply Chain Coordinator is required by long established innovative scientific manufacturer.

The Supply Chain Coordinator will be responsible for supplier management, purchasing and pricing - though the role can and will include any other tasks that supportour supply chain activities.

You will be working alongside existing buyers, pricing and logistics co-ordinators and will report to our Supply Chain Manager. This is an office-based role, at our clients offices in Saffron Walden.


Duties:


  • Work with existing and new suppliers to develop, improve and strengthen relationships and supply agreements, ensuring that supply meets the needs of the business
  • To develop and communicate supplier metrics (OTD, Quality etc.)
  • To place Purchase Orders with suppliers and chase through to delivery
  • Identify and mitigate risk for suppliers and products
  • Source and evaluate new suppliers
  • Provide a central point for supplier liaison including supporting other departmental requirements
  • To negotiate price reductions, lead times and other terms and conditions
  • Support pricing functions including the updating, building and uploading of price lists and pricing nonstandard items
  • Oversee Goodsin and invoicing of purchased items
  • Understand and support our business objectives
  • To assist with material planning
  • Report on purchasing KPI's
  • Working with other Supply Chain staff to proactively improve the systems and procedures
  • Be prepared to carry out any other general duties if required to ensure the smooth running of Supply Chain and the company in general

Experience & Skills:


  • Degree or CIPS Level 6 or equivalent
  • Significant experience in a supply chain / procurement / logistics role, ideally with some of this time working for a manufacturing / assembly company
  • Supplier relationship management including negotiation, evaluation and supply agreements
  • Working with MRP and ERP systems
  • Price list management desirable
  • Import procedures and logistics desirable
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills, to understand supply and demand issues
  • Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
  • Fully IT literate with standard Microsoft Office packages, with particular strengths using Microsoft Excel
